About Hughes Law Center

Attorney Kellye Hughes has devoted her legal career to being prepared to handle adoption cases and Child Protective Services (CPS) defense efficiently and capably. Kellye prides herself on being straightforward with clients and not simply telling them what they want to hear.

Focusing On Adoption And Child Protective Services Defense

Hughes Law Center focuses on working with families and children in foster care, as well as families going through private adoption.

She has personally handled more than 400 adoptions. This area of the law has been the most enjoyable aspect of Kellye's legal career. Most adoptions involve couples and single parents who bring children into their families. Some clients have adopted adults such as foster children who have aged out of the foster care system and caregivers adopted by senior citizens. Other clients have sought U.S. recognition of international adoptions involving children from China, Guatemala, Sudan and other countries.

She represents families that have been targeted with false allegations made to CPS, families whose children have been removed by CPS and foster parents in a variety of challenging circumstances.

Professionally Involved In Mentoring And Seminar Lecturing

Kellye has mentored and supervised young attorneys engaged in adoption, CPS defense and other child-related cases through Texas A&M University School of Law (formerly TWU). She frequently lectures and educates other attorneys through seminars and continuing education (CE) forums on adoption and CPS defense. She was honored by the State Bar of Texas and served on the State Bar Child Abuse and Neglect Committee for two terms. She was honored by her law school as one of the school's Alumni of the Year. Kellye was also named by Fort Worth Magazine as the top-rated adoption law attorney and top-rated CPS attorney.
